Carbon Cadence
05:21
|
|||
'Carbon Cadence'
Filtered through coral
Dogs chase, waves on their hind legs, evaporate
Translucent skin, protecting the figurehead
3 scattered pins, loosely held by the sand
It’s not real
(A faceless warning call)
Your not real
(You’ll miss me when I’m gone)
Ash and olive oil in layers
Molecules of carbon pleading their case
Superimposed white and blue stucco
Grey clouds drone
It’s not real
(is a distant star) it’s a dying star
Your not real
It’s not real
(a final curtain call)
Your not real
(I’ll miss them now their gone)

'Ice Cube in a Plastic Cup'
There was a cascade of ash
Hanging from your cigarette
You expected to hear a crash
But falling embers just got wet
Enemies trapped inside a car
Bushes on the windowsill
The glimmer on the liquid edge
Floated like a will-o-wisp
Then the light turned into an
Ice cube in a plastic cup
It became a frozen bubble
To contemplate as we grew up
Then light turned into an
Ice cube in a plastic cup
On a table next to you
I held on as we flew up
The taste of orange in my mouth
The exit just a diagram
Forget what we once dreamed about
Windows grey on either side
See the sunset once or twice
Split the bubble into two
Press upon my eyelids
Until you cast a silhouette
Then the light turned into an
Ice cube in a plastic cup
It became a frozen bubble
To contemplate as we grew up
Then light turned into an
Ice cube in a plastic cup
On a table next to you
I held on as we flew up

The Pulse

'The Pulse'
I’ve lived on the bank of this river for as long as I remember
Travelers come and go, debris and treasure
Little pools form, tad poles illuminate
Until a heavy rain and crumble
Constant Pulse, craving
in our hearts, in pavement
Forest green sedan floats down Lonsdale Avenue
Dynamo hum of Jean-Talon
Charcoal coat of snow, cardboard leaves
Until a heavy rain and crumble
I walk along the river, 13 clocks remember
Swimming pools. walls of pebble
Castle in a cloud. Sub-American dreams
Until a heavy rain and thunder

Sensory Belt

'Sensory Belt'
I glance across the other seats upon the bus
and gaze off to the west
We breathe the same air;
pumped through the jets in our chests
When the tigers were in full bloom,
it kept our numbers low
I was born in a surgery ward
ate melons though the Algonquin snows
The painters dip themselves into the sensory belt
collecting symbols of stars
Its not how it looked but how it felt
we held the tree up by her arms
But dovetails are just dovetails
and we’re not doves any longer
The tigers have lulled our U-Boats
and approach our illuminated shores

'Photograph'
Bedroom rapped in fleece
Blue Bubbles
Sweet smell of fog
Bleeds through the roof
Clouds zooming in
Blue blankets
We’re staring at the sky
There’s no sound
Lets not take any photographs
Freeze the sky
And the zodiacs
Rip off our masks
And let the elements react
Incline of neck
Pinky on the stubble
The tap drips
Sending echos down the hall
Our tail bones have quit
No blankets
We’re laying on the floor
Listening to the sound
Lets not take any photographs
Freeze the sky
And the zodiacs
Rip off our masks
And let the elements react
As the harvest moon rolls back
Digital Hearth
Slow drunk on the lowlands

'Oblong Sphere'
My condolences
to you, oblong sphere
Thousands
of horses
are building
subconscious rings
around you
There’s no raccoon
to wash your hair
Portrait of a daughter
hangs over head
Doctors can’t sew
what is not there
Place a catchers mitt
upon your twisted hand
My condolences
to you, my dear
Thousands
of horses
are building
subconscious rings
around us

'Orange Achilles'
To heal the viking song.
The clash of rolling upon, each others lines
The years that hold the rope
Sing Around Us
Dangle us by our feet
Fall between them
Orange Achilles
To heal the Viking song
The clash of rolling upon, each others lines
The years that hold the rope
Yellow Minnows
Purple Eyes
Beyond Speech

Leap Year

|

‘Leap Year’
the art of doing nothing
the art of doing something you love
the art of eating, the art of sleeping
the art of waking up
the art of being proud
the act of sitting up, awake and alert
not being forgetful of anyones name
remembering everything
I will remember your name
I have too many memoirs my old friend
secrets for one another
I don’t drink to forget
I drink to remember
I’m overcome by emotionlessness
I just drink to get hungover
every state lasts a lifetime
as you surely realize
when your drunk your a drunkard
and when your angry your a menace
when your sad your a suicide
each thing to discus and analyze
I don’t drink to get drink
why doesn’t anyone realize this
I just drink to remember what its like to be drunk
